The Broken Group Islands are protected as part of the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve and are made up of over 100 islands, islets and rocky outcrops and over 4000 years of cultural history for the Nuu-chah-nulth people.

The Broken Group Islands, or Pacific Rim National Park, consists of countless islands, islets and rocky outcrops scattered in the centre of Barkley Sound, between Loudoun Channel and Imperial Eagle Channel. Less than 10% of the entire area is land!

The Broken Group is renowned for kayaking and wilderness camping. Natural features of this tranquil group of islands include lagoons, sandbars, blowholes, arches and
secluded anchorages. Ancient native archaeological sites introduce visitors to this traditional territory of the Nuu-chah-nulth people.
