The Seaway Express transports paddlers & their kayaks to the Deer Group archipelago (just outside the Broken Islands) and across Barkley Sound... or for those of you seeking an overland wilderness experience, we will also take adventurous hikers & their packs to the West Coast Trailhead near Bamfield!

The vessel leaves the towns of Bamfield and Ucluelet daily throughout the Summer months.

The Seaway Express is the only link that
unites all the parts of  the Pacific Rim
National Park.

The trip takes passengers through some of the most pristine West Coast waters -- along the way the seascapes and wild life are spectacular!

Ucluelet and Bamfield are located about 37 km apart on opposite sides of Barkley Sound, separated by some of the most breathtaking scenery in the world.

As the Seaway Express makes the journey across Barkley Sound she winds her way through many uninhabited island archipelagoes with natural blowholes, arches and sandbars, whispers of mysterious shipwrecks and the echoes of ancient voices.  This island paradise is also home to an amazing array of majestic land and sea creatures (including: whales, sealions, seals, bald eagles, sea otters, minks, black bears, wolves and dolphins) and is world renowned for being one of the best kayaking, wilderness camping and SCUBA diving destinations on the planet.

The Broken Group Islands are now protected as part of the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve and are made up of over 100 islands, islets and rocky outcrops and over 4000 years of cultural history for the Nuu-chah-nulth people.
